When people start off in the computer world, they are searching for specific things. They may wish to watch shows online, surf the net, play games or simply a place to store their digital pictures.
A great beginning computer is the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC. HP has lots of hard-drive space, and RAM, but there is no graphic cards. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is a PC for those on a budget, and not too interested in gaming. The purpose of this HP computer is to be a nice all-around computer for a terrific price instead of a power computer for the advanced gamer.
This computer from HP is only $600 but comes with AMD's 2.9GHz Phenom ll 840T quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Furthermore, this HP computer features 802.11n Wi-Fi, ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics, and a DVD burner.
The tower sports a plain, average black chassis, but the front is made of glossy black plastic. Furthermore, this HP computer comes with an open bay for you to add a Blu-Ray burner or another hard drive. The PC is roughly seven inches wide and comes with the power button at the top of the case. This PC comes with a mouse and keyboard set that are wired and quite generic. Unlike a lot of new computers, you aren't going to find too much software bundled with it. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC comes with several try-before-you-buy software and HP's excellent MediaSmart video and music suite.
There are a couple of useful ports on the front, with a multi-format card reader bay being one of those ports. This computer from HP also comes with two USB 2.0 ports in the front and microphone and headphone jacks. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC lacks more multimedia type ports like Firewire or thunderbolt. The back of the PC has an Ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, one DVI-out, one VGA-out, and an S/PDIF-out. Also, the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC comes with 7.1 surround sound. As for expansion, however, this PC from HP leaves a lot to be desired. Like other budget computer systems, the wires inside look to be a jumbled mess, with wires bundled in the middle of the PC. You really cant do anything to expand the computer. Still, you can put in an a more advanced graphics card if you wish.
As a gaming computer, the HP Pavilion p6720f is not the best machine or even a PC to even consider. The integrated ATI graphics just isn't adequate for the quality necessary for your games. Budget PCs are not recommended for computer gaming. The Micro Express MicroFlex 25B, which will cost you a few hundred dollars more, will be a much better alternative for your gaming entertainment. In spite its graphic limits, the Pavilion p6720f offers a lot of value for the price with generous hard drive space, a great deal of RAM and a powerful processor. This HP Pavilion computer was right for me, because it did everything that I wanted it to do. It was simple to use, and plenty fast, and the price was something I can afford.
