How to Build Your Own Computer: Some Useful Tips
Building a computer has become a trend among the youngsters as it is both cost effective as well as helps the user breed familiarity with the computer parts. The thrill of building a computer cannot definitely be experienced on buying a computer system. Although, the computer parts may differ according to models, the basic assembly is almost same in most cases.
There are certain tips and precautions to be followed before starting the actual process of building a computer. Utmost care should be taken to some issues, such as never open the power supply and never force computer parts into space that doesn't fit properly because there are chances that you are inserting a wrong component at wrong slot.
While buying parts buying second hand parts that are still fully functional can result in saving a lot of money. Some of the basic materials needed are Installation CD for windows XP, a motherboard, a CPU with of course a fan to prevent overheating, RAM, a computer case, power supply, monitor, hard drive, speakers, and processor.
A sturdy surface is ideal for building a computer. A compatible processor should be connected to the motherboard in the allotted square shaped slot and secured with metal clips. Next, gently push the RAM into the slot allotted for memory in the motherboard. The CD –ROM or DVD-ROM drive should be installed inside the CPU and should be secured with screws. Next, the fan should be installed inside the CPU.
After that, the hard drive should be installed inside the CPU and should be connected to the motherboard with the given cable. Thereafter, the power supply should be installed and with the help of connecters should be connected to the motherboard, hard drive and fan. The cover of the CPU should be replaced and the computer opened and installed with motherboard BLOS. Next, close the CPU box and connect the monitor to the CPU. Finally, install the operating system and check if the computer is running properly. Always pay attention to user manuals for further help in case of any doubt.
